CBD stands for cannabidiol. It is a main compound in varieties of cannabis plants. Commercial CBD is primarily extracted from legal hemp.
According to clinical studies surveyed by the journal of Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research, CBD is generally recognized as safe for both human and animal consumption. Some minor side effects have been reported, usually after consuming large quantities. The most common is tiredness or grogginess. Less common side effects include appetite, weight change and loose stools. CBD may also affect liver levels after prolonged use, but studies are still ongoing.

CBD is derived from cannabis plants—hemp usually. Hemp is a legal type of cannabis plant that has nearly non-existent levels of THC (<0.3%). It is a relative of the marijuana plant but is not the same thing. Additionally, different types of CBD extract have even less THC than that! For instance, while Full Spectrum Hemp Extract has <.03% THC, Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract and CBD Isolate have no detectable THC levels.
Delta 9 is the THC that people are most familiar with. THC, which stands tetrahydrocannabinol, is the compound that causes the “head change” or “high” associated with cannabis. Although it is present in greater quantities in hemp’s cousin, marijuana, it is only present in trace amounts in full spectrum hemp. On the federal level, commercial hemp can have up to .3% THC and be legal/compliant. Part of this is because such trace amounts are not generally enough to cause psychoactive effects.
Just like CBD and delta-9 THC, delta 8 is a cannabinoid found in cannabis—both hemp and marijuana. Like delta 9, it is a kind of tetrahydrocannabinol. However, its head change is not as potent. Currently, hemp-derived delta 8 products are legal under the 2018 Farm Bill, as long as they contain <.3% delta-9 THC, though there are some restrictions at the state level. It is highly advised that you check with your local laws before purchasing and consuming delta 8 products.
Broad Spectrum CBD contains CBD and naturally occurring terpenes from the hemp plant for a partial entourage effect. Full Spectrum contains CBD, terpenes and trace amounts of other cannabinoids, including delta-9 THC (<.3%) for a more robust whole hemp experience.
CBD hemp products will not get you high, although some people feel an all-over calm and melt with full spectrum, minus the aggressive head change of THC products. Delta-8 THC hemp products do have intoxicating effects and should be consumed with caution. Operating a motor vehicle or heavy machinery is not advised with delta 8 products.
To retain greater potency, we recommend you only use our CBD Oil Tinctures and Universal Oils in things that do not require heating or cooking, such as drinks, sauces, toppings, and dressings. If you wish, you can also stir into warm foods and drinks. Avoid using them to fry or grill items. High heat will change the makeup of our tinctures. There is no way to know just how much CBD you end up consuming.
If your dog requires a larger dose, you may choose to give them our unflavored broad spectrum human tinctures. High doses are not advised for cats, thus we recommend sticking to a pet bottle for feline friends for easier dosing/lower potency.
Our hemp flower is Farm Bill Compliant, thus federally legal in the United States. Please check your local laws for conflicts at the state level.
We use USDA Organic ingredients whenever possible. Additionally, our CBD is extracted from hemp grown in organic soil in the USA.
We believe hype should be earned. Having CBD in something doesn’t automatically make it good. We believe our products are top tier and would stand out even if they did not contain CBD. But don’t take our word for it. Give us a try.
Due to the nature of our products, we cannot accept returns. However, damaged goods can be refunded/replaced. Please contact us ASAP if you've received a damaged item.
Delta 8 products have a higher probability of triggering a positive THC test. However, it is unlikely CBD products will trigger a positive test, but not impossible, especially if one is regularly consuming large amounts of Full Spectrum CBD. Please use our products at your own risk and discretion. Generally, drug screenings only test for THC levels, but tests vary.
