CBD Dosing

CBD Dosing

Unfortunately, there are no official guidelines for how much CBD should be consumed “per serving.” Formal dosing recommendations simply do not exist yet. While the 2018 Farm Bill made growing hemp legal in the United States (with restrictions), the CBD industry is still very new. That means all of us are left to navigate this natural wonder on our own for now.

Consumers must use CBD at their own risk and manufacturers must help customers make informed decisions — by sharing current scientific research and informal consensus within the CBD community.

Ultimately, the amount you take and when rests in your hands. We cannot make recommendations, but we can provide general reference points to help guide your CBD journey! Please remember these statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Always consult a physician before using any consumable product.

Where To Start

We suggest you prepare yourself as if you were a scientist and you’re the only patient in your study.

  • Keep a journal or calendar to start. It will help you figure out your ideal dose.
  • Start with a low dose once a day and increase the amount as needed over time.
  • Keep track of your goals, how much you take, when, and how it affects you. This way you know which amounts work for your body and needs.
  • Stay hydrated. Seriously. Make sure you drink plenty of water after your dose.

Why Am I Taking CBD?

This is the first question you must ask yourself when considering your dose. A big factor is how you wish to use CBD. Why matters, because when you consume your personal dose will depend on the desired effect. Again, everyone is different.

If you notice that a high dose of CBD relaxes you, you may want to take it in the evening before bed. If for overall wellness, a smaller dose in the morning might suit you best. You may also want to divide your dosage up into two smaller increments throughout the day. Try different combinations within the suggested limits for your weight and note which work for you.

We hope that this guide will help aid your journey. Remember to be patient! Sometimes less is more. Every person responds to CBD differently and side effects may vary. Listen to your body and uncover your personal limits over time.
